Ella Forums is pleased to invite you to attend this Speaker Session (virtually on Zoom) as our guest.
Speakers: Jon Benjamin
Synopsis:
Good governance is key to running any organisation, but for charity leaders there are many additional responsibilities. The Charity Commission, grant makers, staff and volunteers all expect trustees and senior leaders to run their charities professionally, transparently and all the time adhering to a raft of regulations and best practice.
How can these expectations be addressed in practice? How can trustees and staff work together to ensure that good governance yields positive results, rather than becoming another unwelcome chore, or getting overlooked completely?
This session will:
- outline the principles of good governance
- explore practical ways for senior leadership to apply them
- consider how this approach can encourage teambuilding and collective responsibility.
About the Speaker:
Jon practiced as a litigation lawyer before moving into the not-for-profit sector and heading up a number of national and international charities and advocacy organisations. Since 2013 he has advised charities and international NGOs on these areas, policy audits and risk management.
